Your Role as an Early Head Start Assistant Teacher: 

We're looking for enthusiastic educators, like YOU, to assist the Lead Teacher, ensuring our classroom activities align with Head Start Performance Standards. Your role will be to assist in facilitating learning centers, providing support for individual and small group instruction, modeling interactive play, assisting students with technology use, and promoting good nutrition practices during meal and snack times. You'll contribute to maintaining a safe, clean learning environment, fostering strong relationships with families based on mutual trust and respect, and collaborating closely with center staff, volunteers, and parents. Your duties will also include assisting with timely and accurate completion of paperwork, such as home visit forms, parent/teacher conference forms, lesson plans, and transition forms, and preparing materials needed for classroom instruction. Your efforts will support the well-being and developmental success of the children in our care! 

You Might Be the Perfect Fit if You: 

• Are at least 18 years old and hold the necessary credentials for a Lead Teacher in Texas, which include the ability to pass a background check, a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of teaching experience in a licensed child center. Education in Early Childhood Education or a related field is a big plus!

• Have genuine empathy and understanding of children's needs and development.  

• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to meet community needs and respond to changing circumstances. 

• Capable of meeting the physical demands of working with children.
