This HR Generalist role is heavily employee relations focused, with an emphasis on counseling employees and managers through complaints, performance, policy, worker’s compensation, and leave of absence related matters.

Where You’ll Work:

This includes managing the company’s corrective action, performance improvement plan, investigation, and termination process, including issuing approvals and ensuring consistency in our practices.

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives such as engagement surveys, recognition programs, and total rewards.
  • Assist team members through requesting reasonable accommodations.
  • Manage the quarterly performance review and bonus programs for our properties.
  • Partake in monthly, quarterly, and annual HR projects including turnover reporting, ongoing leadership and development training, Annual Awards Program, etc.

  • Manage the company’s exit interview program, acting as a strategic business advisor by analyzing trends and making recommendations based on feedback
  • Provide general HR support during the acquisition and disposition of properties, as needed.
  • Guide, counsel, and coach associates at varying levels of the organization, including supervisors, regarding associate interactions, ensuring compliance with labor regulations.
  • Participate in and facilitate recruiting activities, as business needs demand
  • Other duties and projects as directed and assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably as a Generalist or in a small or medium sized company
  • 2-4+ years’ previous employee relations experience, including a proven track record of effectively consulting and coaching managers through personnel matters.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Previous experience with HRIS software such as Paycor or UKG
  • Previous experience with Leave of Absence, including an understanding of worker’s compensation and FMLA law, preferred
  • SHRM-CP certification preferred

Who You Are:

  • A relationship builder and consultant. You establish relationships fluidly, building trust and respect across all levels of the organization through offering sound business advice and coaching. You can connect with others, regardless of differences, and have a knack for mediating.
  • An effective communicator. You clearly and successfully deliver information to the appropriate party in a timely manner. You listen and ask questions to understand, not to react, and effectively interpret nonverbal communication cues and body language.
  • An ethical leader. As a member of the Human Resources team, you respect the confidentiality of personal and business information. You make decisions with moral principles in mind and stand up for what’s right.
  • A critical problem solver. You keep it cool when things get crazy, approach problems with viable solutions, and know when you need to roll up your sleeves to support the team.
