Position Title: HR Generalist

Location: Chicago, IL

Their team is passionate about what they do, and they are looking for an HR Generalist who shares their commitment to excellence and can help manage and support their talented workforce.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, addressing concerns and resolving issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Prepare and process documentation for new hires, terminations, and other HR activities.
  • Coordinate employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries and issues.
  • Support the performance review process, including tracking review cycles, assisting with goal setting, and providing guidance to managers and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops to support employee development and organizational goals. Assist in identifying training needs and developing relevant programs.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Address payroll-related inquiries and issues.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and foster a positive work culture. Plan and execute company events and activities.
  • Participate in special HR projects and initiatives as needed to support the overall goals of the HR department and the organization.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR role, preferably as an HR Generalist.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Solid understanding of HR best practices and employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees and managers and provide exceptional customer service.


Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification.
  • Experience in a fast-paced or rapidly growing company.
  • Familiarity with HRIS software and payroll systems.
