Information Technology Specialist I (End Point Administrator)


Job Summary:

We are collaborating with our client to identify a highly qualified individual for the role of Information Technology Specialist I (End Point Administrator) for a state agency that supports the needs of low- and moderate-income renters and homebuyers by providing financing and programs focused on equity. This role is hybrid in Downtown Sacramento. Minimum 2 days a week in the office.



Job Duties:



Server Monitoring and Patching

  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on products for Operating Systems (OS), application deployments, and software patch management, using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune (Intune) to ensure that systems are updated and secured in a timely manner.
  • Implements, manages, and utilizes monitoring server systems including Netwrix, Foglight, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and other monitoring tools to ensure system performance, availability, and data integrity.
  • Serves as SME on scripting languages (VBScript/Python/PowerShell etc.) to automate tasks and ensure monitoring and alerts are being sent out, to evaluate system health.
  • Utilizes tracking logs within application and MS Excel spreadsheets to research and mitigate server issues and escalate to IT Manager I as needed.
  • Performs infrastructure audits for user management, file server management and firmware management across the network, to ensure visibility into the network and capability to mitigate issues as they arise.
  • Serves as a Tier 3 support when tickets are escalated from the Help Desk to troubleshoot and remediate issues relating to servers and/or other equipment. Recommends enhancements and automations to current processes.
  • Assists the help desk and end user support with escalated issues from the Tier 2 Technicians.



Enterprise Customized Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Support and Administration

  • Manages and maintains Client’s COTS solutions: Triages and resolves user issues with Client’s COTS solutions and escalates to the vendor as necessary; Maintains recommended patching levels; Monitors servers to ensure capacity appropriate for applications; Monitors server performance for degradation in application performance; Provides vendor support access to systems for troubleshooting purposes securely and within reasonable timeframes.



Systems Administration

  • Acts as a backup member of the Tier 3 Support Team to perform system administrator duties.
  • Performs Active Directory and Microsoft Windows Domain administration: managing distribution and security groups, user, computer accounts, and group policies.
  • Performs file system administration, including permissions, NT File System (NTFS), Distributed File Systems (DFS), and File Replication Service (FRS) and printer administration, including drivers, print spooler, and printer queues.
  • Assists the help desk and end-user support with escalated issues from the Tier 2 Technicians.



Information Security

  • Works with the Information Security Office (ISO) to implement security measures to protect Client’s servers and infrastructure from intrusions and vulnerabilities.
  • Uses best practices and principles to secure systems. Reviews and mitigates internal/external vulnerability assessments.
  • Performs system firmware, and software patching.
  • Utilizes security tools and registry configurations to ensure endpoints security and latest updates are pushed timely.



Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged sitting
  • Work in a high-rise building when onsite
  • Use a computer keyboard and read from computer screens several hours a day
  • Be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
