My client builds, and operates a diverse range of small satellite systems supporting space-based turnkey missions for several business applications, including earth observation, communications, in-orbit demonstrations, risk reduction opportunities, in addition to various science and exploration applications.


Position Summary:


The Integration Manager role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless integration of various systems and components within their small satellite projects.


They are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual who can lead integration efforts and drive the successful execution of their satellite missions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in aerospace engineering or related fields, with proven experience in integration management within the satellite industry.


This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless integration of various systems and components to deliver reliable and efficient satellite solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and monitor integration activities, driving improvements and success.


Key Information:


My client is in the process expanding their operation and this role will be within a new facility they are growing into. Although this position is advertised as on-site in Colorado. For the first 4-6 months in this role you will be required to travel extensively to their HQ in California (roughly for 50% of the time) until they have transitioned their manufacturing to the new location.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Integration Strategy: Develop integration strategies tailored to the unique requirements of small satellite projects. Collaborate with engineering teams to align integration efforts with project objectives and technical specifications.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and expertise on integration methodologies, protocols, and standards. Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies to support integration efforts, optimizing performance and efficiency.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration among engineering, testing, and operations teams to facilitate smooth integration processes. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with integration activities. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality assurance processes for integration activities. Conduct thorough testing and validation of integrated systems to verify functionality, performance, and compliance with specifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of integration processes, configurations, and test results. Generate regular progress reports and updates for management and stakeholders to track project status and identify areas for improvement.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members involved in integration activities. Share best practices, troubleshooting techniques, and lessons learned to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in integration within the aerospace or satellite industry, with a focus on small satellite systems.
  • Strong technical background in satellite systems, including familiarity with spacecraft bus architecture, payload integration, and testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in integration tools and technologies, such as CAD software, simulation tools, and test equipment.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects from inception to delivery.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.


Salary:

The banding for this position is between $120,000 - $160,000 depending on experience
