Interim Contracts Counsel

Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Contracts Counsel for a professional services client.

Overview: Our Client seeks a Part-Time, Interim Contracts Counsel for a six-month assignment.

Company: Our Client is a professional services client which partners with life sciences clients to ensure efficiency.

Experience: Ten or more years’ experience representing life sciences clients in contractual negotiations and agreement drafting.

Location: Local Boston-area candidates who will work on a mostly remote basis but have the ability to come into the office twice per month.

Responsibilities Include:

• Review, negotiate, and draft myriad commercial agreements including master services agreements (MSAs) and software as a service (SaaS) agreements.
• Issue spot and advise on privacy issues, including General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), pharmacovigilance, and adverse event reporting as they arise in contracts.
• Conduct legal research as needed.

Qualifications Include:

• Ten or more years’ experience acquired in a top law firm and/or in-house environment advising life sciences clients on the negotiation and drafting of a variety of commercial agreements.
• Command of privacy, pharmacovigilance, and adverse event reporting issues.
• Experience negotiating with large, institutional clients.
• Excellent academic and professional credentials including a law degree from a well-respected national law school and admission to at least one state bar (ideally Massachusetts) active and in good standing.
• Excellent attention to detail in oral and written communication.
