Universal Steel America is the leading North American specialty steel plate fabricator. As a subsidiary of the Salzgitter AG Group, we provide steel plate and component parts to various industries including Wind, Power Gen, Pressure Vessel, Offshore Oil & Gas Mining, and Heat Transfer applications. Essential Functions


  • Establishes and maintains international sales relationships with both existing and potential accounts.
  • Expand the sales volume and profits within the territory by actively calling on new and existing customers.
  • Use effective pre-call planning, market information, scheduling, and maximization of sales opportunities.
  • Order entry, follow-up, and expediting of all orders from order date through payment.
  • Develop strategic sales plans and forecast for the territory.
  • Identify and pursue additional sales opportunities in current and new product lines.
  • Assist in coordinating and attending trade shows.
  • Utilize the company CRM to build a database for collection and reporting of all account calls, prospects, activities

objectives, and results.

  • Plan sales activities/sales trips to maximize sales coverage and maintain travel expenses within budgets.
  • Reviews quotes, contracts, and sales agreements
  • Manage expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Employee must be able to travel up to 50%; internationally and domestically.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

5-10 years related experience with an established customer base portfolio. Must have steel sales experience.


Computer Skills


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Company specific software; Order processing systems and Manufacturing software.
