What You’ll Do

In this role you will be responsible for strategic development and operation of the Data Lakehouse, Business Intelligence/data warehousing practice, and leads a team of engineers to build, maintain and support the Bank’s new and existing data environments. Responsibilities include managing staffing requirements, designing solutions, optimizing processes and technology, and ensuring high confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Bank’s enterprise data services. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support enterprise data and analytics solutions to deliver essential information to satisfy their information needs. The role will align very closely with the Bank’s Data & Analytics team and processes to ensure efficient and responsive change management to changing business needs.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Taking responsibility for the Bank’s strategic development and operation of the Data Lakehouse and Business Intelligence/data warehousing practice.
  • Leading a team to build, maintain, and support data environments while ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Managing staffing, designing solutions, optimizing processes, preparing budget proposals, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement enterprise data and analytics solutions for the Bank.

What You Can Expect

  • Work with stakeholders to define requirements, constraints, and goals
  • Set clear objectives, priorities and timelines for the team, making sure the team is aligned with company goals and initiatives.
  • Stay current on changes within the industry and communicate any alignment with Bank initiatives to interested parties
  • Understand and adopt all relevant Bank policies, standards, and procedures
  • Create and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Establish and enforce standards, procedures, guidelines while leveraging industry best practices related to the Data Lakehouse and BI solutions
  • Lead discussions about short term tactical fixes vs. long term strategic goals to prioritize work
  • Conduct research and remain current with the latest data technologies and solutions in support of future data management procurement efforts of the data and BI platforms
  • Consult resident and external subject matter experts to curate informed decisions
  • Liaise with vendors for the procurement of new technologies and services
  • Prepare budget proposals and operational expenditure statements
  • Curate and maintain documentation related to architecture, infrastructure, and disaster recovery; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives
  • Own and drive forward all phases of data pipeline development, including, design, evaluation, validation, and implementation
  • Delegate responsibilities to team members as appropriate
  • Provide mentoring, training, and guidance to members of the team
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of the Data Lakehouse and enterprise data infrastructure, data integration, high availability, security, and data privacy
  • Ensure the efficient utilization of data resources
  • Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the data and BI platforms

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive experience leading teams within an agile/SCRUM environment
  • Experience leveraging Agile metrics to measure and improve team performance
  • Extensive experience planning, leading, delivering and supporting an enterprise data program
  • Experience leading a team of developers to execute on delivery commitments
  • Experience providing effective technical oversight on solutions that are developed
  • 5+ years of database and data management experience
  • FiveTran, DataBricks, AWS or other related data certifications are highly preferred
  • 4 year college degree in information technology, data science or equivalent experience
