Position: New Product Introduction Engineer

Location: Irvine, CA - Onsite Required

Position Description

DZYNE Technologies is building a highly skilled team that thrives on the creation of new air and ground vehicles. The candidate will work in a manufacturing environment, transitioning aircraft prototype to low-rate-initial-production to full-rate production.

The successful candidate will be a highly organized self-starter who has direct, hands-on experience building manufacturing equipment, process, and developing the systems required for a production environment. The candidate must have low-rate production experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Program Management and Product Manager to determine the required volumes and rates at each phase of increase for product manufacturing.
  • Utilize design engineering and manufacturing engineering resources to determine, design, document and enforce the manufacturing processes established for a prototype project.
  • Coordinate with design engineering and manufacturing engineering resources to design and build tools, jigs, fixtures (hardware), floor plan and staffing plan that supports above.
  • Coordinate with PM, DE and ME to measure the increases/changes/modifications. identified and update the process requirements and documentation at each phase.
  • Support Program Management in achieving schedule and budget of a transitional project.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiencies by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Create and maintain work instructions for an aircraft production environment.
  • Work with technicians to create redlines and nonconformance reports.
  • Conduct acceptance test procedures throughout the vehicle assembly and test process.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, establish standards and confirming manufacturing processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge in applying Industrial Engineering disciplines and principles.
  • Experience with low-volume production (less than 1,000 units / year).
  • Experience working with design engineering to lay out a production flow and associated time estimates for each step of the process.
  • Experience setting up production of a new product and the systems required to deliver.
  • Experienced in laying out production process; working with design team to decompose a prototype vehicle into build stations, tooling, fixtures and supporting capital equipment to meet target production rate.
  • Experience with technicians and creating redlines and nonconformance reports.
  • Experienced with electro-mechanical packaging such as design experiences in packaging LRU’s involving PCBA’s, electrical harnesses and connectors, and mechanical components.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • 7 plus years’ experience working in aerospace or vehicle manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on design and build experience for prototype transition into full manufacturing, including continued development and modifications from initial production to full capacity,

Education/Experience

  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial or equivalent experience.

Clearance Level Required: No Security Clearance is required, but highly desired.

Travel: No Travel required.

Working Conditions

The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment to an environment where inclement weather may subject to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.

Salary: $135K - $142K

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
