Location: Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument (SAPU), New Mexico
Duties:
Conduct comprehensive physical security assessments at three National Park Service (NPS) facilities, including visitor centers and museums at Quarai, Abo, and Gran Quivira
Evaluate the housing area at Gran Quivira in Socorro County and a GSA-leased facility in Mountainair, New Mexico
Identify deficiencies in current security systems, including burglar alarms, sensors, and panic buttons
Provide recommendations to enhance safety and security, including the installation of new security systems or components
Ensure the early detection of threats and the safety and well-being of staff, visitors, and park assets
Collaborate with park management and staff to evaluate and improve security policies, procedures, and emergency action plans
Prepare detailed reports with findings, recommendations, and prioritized lists of corrective actions
Requirements:
Expertise in physical security assessments and maintenance of security systems
Experience with surveying and auditing museum or cultural institution security
Professional certification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Institutional Protection Manager
Familiarity with NFPA-731 and NFPA-1600 standards
Ability to pass a background check conducted by the National Park Service
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
