Our growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a talented Pipeline Engineer to join our team. This is a new position in a new and developing market, making it an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact. As the Pipeline Engineer, you will report to the Director of Engineering and Integrity and work closely with a team in our Engineering and Integrity department. Our Ideal Candidate:

Altamira is looking for a Pipeline Engineer who is a goal-oriented, self-starter with excellent communication skills. Our ideal candidate also has:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in Pipeline Integrity management with an operator or as a consultant
  • Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Electrical, Chemical, Materials Engineering or other related engineering fields required.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or Engineer In Training preferred.
  • PMP, NACE CP I or II, certification preferred.
  • Experience with:
  • Inspection
  • Corrosion Control
  • ILI Assessment
  • Risk Assessment
  • HCA and Class Locations Analysis
  • RBI
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Proficiency in Technical Writing
  • API 510, 570, 580 (preferred but not required

Key Requirements:

Engineering Degree.

Consulting Experience (preferred)

Onshore pipeline experience.

IRM Experience (Inspection, Repair, Maintenance and/or Integrity)

Pigging, Life extension, and Overall pipeline inspection related experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing project management support to new and existing projects
  • Identifying additional opportunities within the client organization
  • Collaborating with other project managers on their projects
  • Critically engage with all involved parties (e.g., project manager, colleagues, customers, contractors, vendors, engineering houses, third parties, certifying bodies).
  • Providing SME integrity and regulatory compliance support to assigned clientele
  • Conducting site surveys and research to determine pipeline specifications and placement as well as pump sizes.
  • Preparing and presenting technical materials such as cost estimates, pipeline layouts, and flow simulations.
  • Produce cost estimations and detailed proposals for pipeline integrity related projects.
  • Develop and implement technical training programs.
  • Produce technical papers and produce and present technical and sales presentations.
  • Creating and developing digital designs such as pipeline maps, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams.
  • Overseeing the construction and installation process of pipeline infrastructure and systems.
  • Managing the project workflow and budget.
  • Performing quality control assessments and ensuring that the pipelines comply with all technical and safety regulations.
  • Performing maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to pipelines, as needed.
  • Produce and guide others by producing project deliverables such as, but not limited to analyses and assessments, related to inspection, repair and maintenance activities (e.g., risk assessments, fitness for purpose analyses).
  • Keeping up to date with the latest advancements in design software, technical standards, and construction techniques.
  • Participate in industry committees (ASME, NACE, PRCI, API, AGA, etc.)

The Pipeline Engineer will work primarily in our Dallas or Houston offices, with the potential for some remote work. We offer a hybrid schedule and open, fluid flexibility. Physical presence in Dallas or Houston as much as possible is preferred, with occasional travel within the Gulf Coast area, 1-3 days every couple of months.

We are offering a target compensation package of $110K - $150K DOE. We offer a flexible schedule, a good mix of technical and commercial disciplines, and the potential for career progression and learning and development opportunities.
