Position Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This individual will collaborate closely with production teams to implement and maintain quality control processes, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous quality enhancement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a primary role in contributing to the successful and efficient prove-out of new products, ensuring that they meet quality standards and specifications
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols specifically tailored to new product introductions
  • Collaborate closely with customers and other engineering team members to identify and address issues early in the process
  • Provide technical support for the quality control staff throughout the process, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to perform their duties effectively
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of prototypes and initial production runs, providing critical feedback to optimize product design and manufacturing processes
  • Work proactively to anticipate and mitigate potential quality risks during the product development lifecycle
  • Analyze inspection data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Participate in the development and validation of manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and consistency
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality control activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans
  • Train production personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and quality control procedures
  • Stay current on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to quality management
  • Creates applicable work instructions and provides training as needed
  • Investigate and complete Corrective and Preventive Actions
  • Creates/Performs machine validations


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles
  • Previous experience with PC-DMIS
  • Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a machine shop setting
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100D, or other quality management systems
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) techniques is preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments


This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Formlogic requires proof of status prior to employment.
