AHMI Real Estate Intern

$25 - $30 / Hour / Part-Time

 

JOB SUMMARY:

This is an exciting opportunity to provide industry exposure for eager minds who want to break into real estate development! The Real Estate Intern will get valuable, professional exposure to all aspects of real estate development and operations, as well as contribute to a good cause of providing quality, affordable housing. The Real Estate Intern will perform a variety of tasks to directly support the senior Corporate Team. Tasks include general back-office administrative assistance, including but not limited to, document management and special projects. The Real Estate Intern will be frequently pulled in for learning opportunities related to real estate development and finance to support the Project Management Team on special tasks. Candidates who apply should be motivated, resourceful, and should possess skills to complete multi-faceted, time-sensitive tasks. The Real Estate Intern should possess strong time-management skills under competing priorities. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills with an eagerness to learn this industry. A hybrid schedule will be offered to accommodate class schedules, on a case-by-case basis, but some in-person office time is required in this position.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

·        Spreadsheet and Document Management, using strong writing and analytical abilities.

·        Strong financial, communication, organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

·        Invoice Management.

·        Special Tasks related to Project Management.

·        Research projects as requested by Corporate Team.

·        Back-office Support and Office Organization.

·        Other administrative support as needed on aspects related to Asset Management, Finance, and Real Estate Development and Construction.

·        Strong organization skills, attention to detail, critical thinking skills, confidentiality, integrity, and the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced dynamic environment


QUALIFICATIONS:

·        A valid Driver’s License in good standing without any restrictions or encumbrances and have a dependable insured vehicle.

·        Moderate bending, kneeling, and walking. Light lifting (less than 25 lbs). On-site support as requested by AHMI Corporate-level Senior Staff.

·        Pass a drug screening.

·        Actively enrolled in bachelor’s degree program or equivalent.

·        Related experience in real estate, project management, accounting, finance, or other are a plus.

·        Passion for real estate development, design, and construction.

·        Strong problem-solving skills and critical analysis are a plus.

·        Strong teamwork skills.

·        Ability to research and summarize complicated finance, accounting, and legal issues.

·        Assist with maintaining office filing system.

·        Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

·        Ability to discern when to ask questions.

·        Professionalism, Confidentiality, and Sensitivity with respect to AHMI’s business, trade secrets, and business practices.
