This role will be 60% focused on UI and 40% focused on UX.

The Team:

We’re looking for talented Senior UI/UX Designer to join our team. Reporting to the Director of UI/UX, this position will be based in our Los Angeles, CA offices. Having offices in New York City, NY and Tampa, FL you must be comfortable working cross functionally with distributed teams.

As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will hold a central role in shaping extraordinary user experiences for our valued customers. This pivotal position requires a strong capacity to envision and create user-friendly interfaces customized for web applications, all while showcasing a profound understanding of core user experience principles. Your role will encompass guiding user experience testing efforts and leveraging your expertise to create wireframes, prototypes, and visually stunning designs that seamlessly align with the company's strategic goals and objectives.

The Role:

  • Spearhead user experience and usability feedback sessions, distilling valuable insights into actionable design enhancements.
  • Transform product requirements and user research findings into meticulously crafted designs that elevate product functionality and introduce innovative features.
  • Collaborate with user research and customer success teams to develop and refine user personas, ensuring a deep understanding of the target audience. Utilize these personas to guide design decisions, enhance user empathy, and contribute to the creation of more personalized and effective user experiences.
  • Translate ideas into tangible concepts through diagram flows, wireframes, sketches, and various UX artifacts.
  • Foster close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to envision, design, and implement user-friendly interfaces and seamless experiences.
  • Craft high-fidelity, aesthetically pleasing UI designs.
  • Champion and implement accessibility standards, ensuring that designs adhere to industry accessibility guidelines. Conduct audits to guarantee compliance and strive for universally accessible user experiences.
  • Contribute to the development of design documentation that facilitates productive collaboration between the design and development teams.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design methodologies. Foster a culture of continuous learning within the design team, organizing knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to enhance skills and promote innovation.
  • Establish and advocate for design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
  • Develop and maintain the design system to ensure consistency and efficiency in design efforts.

Who you are:

  • 6+ years of experience as a UI/UX designer.
  • A portfolio showcasing meticulously planned and refined end-to-end customer journeys, as well as exemplary UX and UI designs.
  • Proven expertise in crafting graphical designs derived from intricate datasets.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the capabilities and constraints of HTML, DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated design ingenuity and a deep commitment to user-centric product design.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, visual, and verbal communication skills.
  • Track record of successfully executing visual design tasks across all stages, from initial concepts to final deliverables.
  • Comfort with interpreting detailed user analytics and analyzing user behaviors and performance.
  • Ability to rapidly produce wireframes, mockups, and other communication materials in a fast-paced, iterative startup environment.
  • Deep proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma with a strong understanding of its advanced features and collaboration capabilities.
  • Comfortable creating data visualizations or data oriented content.
  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to stakeholders including executives and our CEO.
  • Independent, and self-motivated with the ability to own and meet project deadlines across multiple projects at once.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and remain flexible to changing priorities.
  • Excellent time management, organization skills, file management / organization.
  • We would be over the moon if you have experience or skills specifically in:
    • Experience in tech, B2B, or entertainment companies
    • Prior experience working for a data platform or data first organization
    • Animation skills in After Effects or a similar platform
    • Think abstractly, transfer complicated ideas to visuals to support Luminate products.

For candidates based in California: Our base salary range for this position is $140,000 - 160,000. We consider your skills and experience, what similar jobs pay at companies of our size, and ensure fair pay among colleagues. Final base salary offer amounts are determined by factors including your experience and expertise. In addition we are proud to offer additional perks and benefits that contribute and complete our total compensation package. Luminate reserves the right to change our compensation bands at any time.
