Applied Intellect LLC (AI) is seeking a Sr. Engineer/Geologist/Scientist to support our Environmental Services Division. This position, will be preferably based out of Colorado, will include a combination of technical support, project management, staff oversight and business development to support multiple environmental based contracts with federal and private sector clientele.
Prior experience with federal land management agencies is a plus with a heavy focus on United States Forest Service (USFS); United States Department of the Interior (USDOI); Bureau of Land Management (BLM); National Park Service (NPS); as well as state, local and commercial enterprises.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Manage projects;
Oversight of staff;
Sr. technical support of projects including data analysis, calculations, and modeling;
Prepare and review of cost estimates, schedules, proposals, work plans and reports;
Support environmental site investigations (i.e., soil and water sampling), remedial designs and removal actions;
Meet and coordinate activities with colleagues, clients, contractors and agency officials;
Work closely with Corporate Business Development Manager in securing new opportunities;
Ensure financial performance of Division; and
May be need to conduct onsite visits at project sites as needed.
Position Requirements
BS degree (advanced degree preferred) in engineering, geology, environmental science, or equivalent;
Professional registration;
10+ years of relevant experience, including expertise in site investigations and remediation, with emphasis on abandoned mine sites;
Experience with federal RCRA/CERCLA and state environmental regulations;
Strong communication and organizational skills;
Excellent technical writing and research skills;
Ability to work in a team environment;
Self-motivating ability to support multiple projects and tasks concurrently;
Proficiency in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams), Google Earth, etc.; and
Travel availability: est. 20%, or as needed.
Training Requirements
Satisfactory completion of AI’s Orientation and Training, including all web-based training; and
Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands;
Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying; and
Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
