POSITION PURPOSE: As Vice President (VP) Development & Marketing you will build and lead the MW Development & Marketing team. The team initially consists of 3 direct reports under your management. You will also work closely with all MW P&L leaders and their teams and collaborate directly with VNA and HQ Corporate DS&I teams and other teams as required. Within the broader mandate of the Development & Marketing function, you will be responsible for: Establishing and deploying the new WIN process and Commercial Excellence program across the BU Divisions marketing, sales, and business development teams. While P&L owners are ultimately accountable for growth, you will work with key stakeholders in the business to establish procedures and tools to ensure consistent approach, to jointly develop ambitious sales plans, effective sales processes and metrics, as well as account management best practices and you will launch and lead monthly pipeline review calls to track progress against our growth targets, to challenge the teams, and to role model effective sales management behaviors. Leading Division marketing as a service function to the Divisions including definition of MW specific positioning and messaging, deployment of digital marketing best practices, creation and dissemination of market and competitive intelligence, creation and implementation of outreach and brand awareness strategy and as-needed market research in support of organic growth opportunities. Leading BU growth strategy definition, including efforts to adapt MW portfolio of businesses and projects as well as new business model opportunities to our strategic plan, definition and promotion of cross-selling initiatives. Supporting execution of growth strategy, providing support to large and complex project development, new markets development.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities
Create and define a change approach and plan for the WIN process and Commercial Excellent program rollout and for changing underlying business processes and procedures
Establish and support a culture of intra VNA and cross divisions collaboration
Lead, coach, and mentor members of the Development & Marketing team and create opportunities for their professional development.
Use of data to provide insights to leadership on sales efficiency and identify improvement opportunities
Define and supervise implementation of go to market strategy, outreach strategy and upstream projects development
Support selected strategic growth initiatives such as best practices to improving our proposals ensuring New VNA message is strong and efficient, Divisions P&L growth and sales strategy development, etc.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Science, Engineering or Business; MBA or other advanced degrees a plus
10 years of Industrial, Energy, Water, and/or Environmental business sector(s) with demonstrated experience in Sales and Business Development
Experience in Commercial Excellence and Strategic / Key Account Management a plus
Five (5) years of experience leading teams with proven mentoring and coaching abilities.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environment
Successfully works on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
An understanding of key revenue levers and cost drivers of business processes in relation to service delivery models and critical success factors for our various business lines
Collaborative and creative team player with drive for innovation and continuous improvement of systems, processes and tools
Self-starter with strong organization, project management, time management, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root-causes and recommend solutions.
