Vice President, Chief Actuary -- Remote | WFH

Position Summary

As a key leader at our organization, you will provide strategic oversight, process enhancements, and best practices for our actuarial and underwriting functions across all business entities. Your role will focus on driving forward-thinking strategies for actuarial rate setting, premium development, valuation, risk management, and product development.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and guide strategic initiatives for the department, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of experienced leaders, overseeing goal setting, career development, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment and provide insightful business intelligence for executive decision-making.
  • Drive the enhancement of deal and product pricing capabilities organization-wide.
  • Oversee actuarial valuation and pricing across all products and services, ensuring compliance and profitability.
  • Direct the development and implementation of underwriting/pricing policies and guidelines, including sales pricing models and training.
  • Collaborate with the executive team on pricing strategy and market adaptations.
  • Establish and maintain actuarial financial statement integrity in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Champion process improvements and best practices to ensure accuracy and legal compliance.
  • Monitor industry trends to innovate actuarial methodologies and practices.
  • Build strong cross-departmental relationships to influence strategic business opportunities.
  • Provide strategic direction for the Company's actuarial program and support exam-related guidelines.
  • Deliver pricing analysis, reports, and dashboards to track program performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
  • 15+ years of experience in health actuarial roles or equivalent expertise.
  • Significant executive leadership experience.
  • Expertise in Strategy, Risk Management, Pricing, Valuation, and advanced customer analytics.
  • Strong financial acumen within the healthcare industry.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and empower cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in developing pricing strategies for new products and services.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage dynamic workloads with integrity and ethics.
