Position Summary:
The BBCM is entering an exciting and pivotal phase as we secure a new home for the Children's Museum in Milwaukee. We are seeking a visionary leader to join us as Vice President (VP) of Operations, driving the strategic direction and operational excellence necessary to deliver impactful experiences for our visitors.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of a comprehensive strategic plan, guiding our efforts to create dynamic experiences for our guests. Working closely with departmental leaders, you will ensure efficient resource allocation and align initiatives with our organizational priorities and mission. The Vice President of Operations will spearhead the implementation of strategies aimed at enhancing our facilities, amenities, and guest services, ensuring that every visit to BBCM is memorable and enriching.
The Vice President of Operations is a key leadership role within BBCM. In this role, you will have the opportunity to significantly impact the organization's growth and potential while effecting positive change for the community. The VP of Operations will also be responsible for the creation and implementation of an operational strategy for the new Betty Brinn Museum.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for operations that aligns with the Museum's mission, vision, and long-term goals
Create an aspirational plan for the future Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, including strategies for enhanced educational programs, exhibits, and guest service experiences
Set clear goals, objectives, and performance dashboards for effective decision-making
Identify and implement measures to streamline operational processes across departments, improving efficiency and resource utilization
Manage the operations budget responsibly, seeking opportunities for cost-saving and revenue generation
Oversee the visitor services team in providing outstanding customer service to Museum guests
Enhance visitor experience by improving facilities, amenities, and services based on feedback
Continuously evaluate the visitor experience and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction, engagement, and grow earned revenue
Develop and implement innovative and thoughtful initiatives, such as special events, guided tours, and interactive activities, to enhance the overall visitor experience
Lead the exhibits and educational teams to ensure that all exhibits and activities align with the Museum's mission and goals
Ensure that programming and exhibits align with the Museum's mission and educational goals, fostering curiosity, creativity, and exploration
Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for enhancements based on visitor feedback and program outcomes
Ensure safety and security through protocols and regular assessments
Oversee facility maintenance and coordinate necessary improvements with vendors and contractors
Qualifications
Seven years of progressive experience in nonprofit operations, with a minimum of three years in a senior leadership role overseeing operational and performance outcomes.
Skills And Abilities
Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams toward shared objectives
Proven track record in developing and implementing innovative strategies that drive engagement and growth
Experience in managing and leading high-performing teams
Proficiency in problem-solving, data analysis, and implementing effective solutions
Dedication to enhancing visitor satisfaction through excellent customer service and responsive feedback management

Starting salary begins at $90,000
