- [Narrator] Influencer marketing is a popular and effective marketing tactic, but you'll have to do your homework. An influencer is defined as a content producer with a following. For example, a food blogger with hundreds of thousands of subscribers or a YouTube personality with millions of followers. Influencers are primarily grouped into a few categories. First is the macro-influencer. Macro-influencers have audiences in the millions, followers or subscribers. Celebrities and top-tier content producers are in this group and typically they publish content across a wide range of subject areas. The micro-influencer has an audience between 10,000 and 100,000 followers or subscribers. However, they tend to be more specialized in content, photography, food, travel, homemaking, crafting, and more.
