Celebrating Accedo.tv's 20 years of innovation, let's take a moment to revisit our most memorable milestones in the past 2 decades. Here is what took place in the first 8 years: ❇ 2004: Accedo.tv is founded in Stockholm, Sweden, by Michael Lantz and Fredrik Andersson. ❇ 2005: We launch our first of many products, called the Accedo Application Provisioning Solution, coinciding with the first commercial customer deployment on behalf of Canal Digital in the Nordics. ❇ 2008: As the market kept evolving at a rapid pace, Smart TV was identified as the logical next step after IPTV, accelerating the company shift towards developing for Smart TV platforms like Philips, LG and Samsung. ❇ 2012: The introduction of mobile application development in addition to Smart TV and IPTV meant that we could now offer true multi-platform coverage, enabling acceleration of several large customer engagements across the world. Stay tuned for the upcoming posts where we gradually reveal the rest of our fascinating journey to becoming one of the leading video innovators in the industry. #Accedotv #Accedoturns20 #20yearcelebration

2023 was a tough year for video streaming, with churn rates nearing 50%. Ad-funded models seem like a solution, but our research shows consumers still prefer SVOD over AVOD services. The conclusion: Lowering prices isn't enough; a stellar user experience is crucial. Accedo.tv's survey of 2,000 global consumers reveals: 🔹 Subscription services still lead: 49% of respondents subscribe to 2-3 paid services, while only 11% use three AVOD services. 🔹 Price matters: 42% expect AVOD services to be 30-50% cheaper than subscriptions. Less than a quarter think these should be free. 🔹 Ad experience challenges: Repetitive ads and poorly timed interruptions are major annoyances. Only 13% are most irritated by irrelevant ads. Want to learn about what these figures mean and how to translate them into smart AVOD strategies? Today we welcome in the beginning of Matariki, the Māori New Year, signified by the appearance of the Matariki cluster of stars in the mid-winter sky. During this time, families across Aotearoa (New Zealand) will surround themselves with loved ones, and take the time to reflect, celebrate and prepare for the year ahead. The three key principles of Matariki are: - Matariki Hunga Nui (Remembrance): Honouring those we have lost since the last rising of Matariki. - Matariki Ahunga Nui (Celebrating the Present): Gathering together to give thanks for what we have. - Matariki Manako Nui (Looking to the Future): Looking forward to the promise of a new year. Mānawatia a Matariki to our Aotearoa (New Zealand) based team, clients, partners and friends.
