Dusty comes to us from General Motors, where he worked in various engineering and leadership roles to bring electric vehicles to market. A proud alumnus of Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Dusty furthered his academic journey with a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and various roles at energyRe and Clean Energy Ventures. 🔎 Why Active Surfaces? Active Surfaces was honored to participate in the 2024 World Real Estate Forum hosted by the MIT Center for Real Estate. The theme of "REIMAGINE REAL ESTATE" sparked insightful discussions on sustainability 🌳, energy innovation ⚡, and the future of the built environment. Thank you to the organizers for this outstanding event. It was inspiring to engage with industry leaders like Heather T. Clark from the The White House 🇺🇸 and MIT faculty such as Siqi Zheng and Steve Weikal. Sessions with panelists like Anna Malhari (Boston Properties (BXP)) and Lori Mabardi (Barings) provided valuable perspectives on creating value through sustainability 💰. It was energizing to connect with leaders in the built environment like JLL, TA Realty, SolarKal, Carr Properties, Brookfield Asset Management, and CBRE, getting a glimpse into their vision for integrating renewable energy into future developments. With our innovative, lightweight, flexible solar technology ☀️, we're committed to driving net-zero emissions 🌍 in the built environment and explore our role in the road to net zero! . . . . . 🌟 Welcome Our New Interns! 🌟 Active Surfaces is thrilled to introduce our Summer 2024 interns! 🎉 Please join us in extending a warm welcome to: Mohamed Abdalla joins us as a Business Development Associate, bringing a wealth of experience from McDermott International, Ltd, where he supported clients across various design and construction stages. A proud Texas Tech University alumnus with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mohamed also holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management. He is passionate about developing renewable energy infrastructure and sees Active Surfaces as a pioneering company set to revolutionize solar technology. Outside of work, Mohamed enjoys spending time with his wife, playing sports, baking chocolate chip cookies, and hosting game nights. Jack Glasl steps into the role of Business Development MBA Intern, fresh from Deloitte Consulting where he aided clients in strategic planning and resource allocation across diverse industries. With a B.S. in Economics and a B.S.B.A. in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh, and is now pursuing an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, Jack is eager to contribute to breakthroughs in the renewable sector at Active Surfaces. When away from the office, he cherishes time with his girlfriend and two cats, cheers for the Pitt Panther football team, and enjoys wrestling and chess. At Active Surfaces, we are passionate about accelerating the adoption of solar in more places for more people and we are excited to have Mohamed and Jack bring their fresh perspectives and energy (no pun intended) to our team.
