For Father's Day, BCH Co-Founder Sid Curry and his family planned a restful, uneventful weekend. However, their plans took an exciting turn when their son, Miles Jefferson, announced that his official swearing-in ceremony into the New York Bar Association was scheduled for the Monday after Father's Day! Without hesitation, the Currys packed their bags and headed for the Big Apple. Over the weekend, Miles guided his parents through some of Brooklyn’s finest spots, including one with a renowned wooden pizza oven and an ice cream parlor. They also visited the Whitney Museum and enjoyed dinner at Ocean Prime in Manhattan. "Watching Miles Jefferson Curry get sworn in at the pristine Appellate Court of New York by the prestigious four-judge panel was one of the best Father's Day gifts I could ever experience! As many of you know, our kids are our heartbeats outside of our own bodies. We feel everything—the ups, the downs, the highs, the lows, the ebbs and flows, and the peaks and valleys," says Sid Curry. "Seeing Miles raise his right hand and take the oath made my day! Congratulations, Miles. You did it!" When those pivotal moments in life come around, stop and embrace them. Many small business owners and their employees may have accumulated student loan balances while studying in college or postgraduate school and have pondered the recent changes that are scheduled to be implemented in July 2024. The SAVE (Saving on Valuable Education) plan is an income-driven repayment (IDR) plan that calculates payments based on a borrower’s income and family size – not their loan balance – and forgives remaining balances after a certain number of years. The SAVE plan will cut many borrowers’ monthly payments to zero, save other borrowers around $1,000 per year, prevent balances from growing because of unpaid interest, and get more borrowers closer to forgiveness faster.
