Did you know that hemp could be a game-changer for horses? 🐎 Here are a few reasons why incorporating hemp into their diet could be a great choice: 1️⃣ Joint Health: Hemp is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which can help reduce inflammation and support your horse's joint health, especially as they age. 2️⃣ Healthy Coat: Hemp's balance of essential fatty acids can lead to a beautiful coat. 3️⃣ Digestive Support: Hemp is gentle on the digestive system and can aid in maintaining a healthy gut. 4️⃣ Immune Boost: The vitamins and minerals in hemp can help strengthen your horse's immune system. Remember to consult with your veterinarian before introducing any new supplements into your horse's diet. The equine clients we work with feed their horses hempseed protein, oil, and hulls. #hemp #flax #equine

Thanks for sharing this Roger and team. Hemp seed cake is an excellent feed supplement for horses! There is no reason to wait on AAFCO/FDA approval for this as horses are not animals for human consumption and we already know they love it and respond well to it. Furthermore, hemp grain derivatives are already approved as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) for humans.

Jacob, all excellent facts and glad you are recommending that folks consult their vets. Everything we are seeing so far is anitdotal. Lets remember that FDA has not yet approved hemp in any form to be fed to either livestock nor any other domestics animal. FDA just approved hemp meal for egg laying hens, after years of reviewing the study and even then, AFFCO needs to give its final approval which may take another 1-1.5 years! Some states have decided to approve hemp for horse feed yet I fear we will see different formulations being developed state to state. Many will know that my wife is a competitive dressage rider and we could not want Hemp Feed Coaltion (HFC) to bring this across the finish line. To do so, however, HFC needs support and funding which will open the door for $billions in opportunities! National Hemp Association #AndrewBish IND HEMP
