Hi, I'm Chris Beisler, cofounder and Managing Partner of Bridgeview Today here to talk to you about networking. I think we all know that networking can feel overwhelming, but in today's job market, it is absolutely critical. So here's some tips to help you network more effectively. Prior to any networking event, do your homework. Research the event, understand its focus, and identify key people that you want to meet. This preparation is going to give you a strategic approach to maximizing your efforts. Walk in with a positive and engaging mindset. Be proactive. Don't wait for others to approach you. Start and drive conversations that will make a memorable impact. Prepare a quick overview of your experience and accomplishments. Work on keeping a concise yet informative. It's important to practice this till you feel comfortable relaying it in a networking setting. Have direct and concise questions that they're ready. This shows you're interested in the person's background and shows preparedness. Be an active listener. It's not just about talking, but listening intently to what the other person has to say. Be sure to ask follow up questions as well. Know when to move on. This allows you to maximize your time. And meet as many people as possible. Always end the conversation with impactful questions and leave on a positive note. Finally, always send a thank you note as simple and brief note. Expressing your appreciation will go a long way with that connection and we'll certainly give you an opportunity to leave the connection alive. Our BridgeView team out on the East Coast, including Nick Nordin and David Locke, had an incredible Karma Day.
