Pro tip: Always pick branded hats over complimentary hairnets. 😉 Recently, our Philadelphia-based team volunteered to assist Philabundance in assembling 800 breakfast and lunch meals for local families in need. That's incredible! Philabundance is a non-profit food bank that serves the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley regions of Pennsylvania. With a goal to end hunger in its communities, it serves 90,000 people each week, 30% of whom are children, 15% of whom are seniors, and others. We're proud of our teammates for taking the time to give back to their community. The talented Shirley St. John, everybody! 🎤 As we continue to reflect on this great country's independence, we hope you'll stop and watch this video of employee, Shirley St. John, singing the national anthem at a local baseball game. Shirley is a one-of-a-kind Store Manager and has been with Extra Space Storage for nearly five years. When she stepped out on the baseball field to sing The Star Spangled Banner, her fellow teammates were right there in the crowd to support her. "The 4th of July has always been my favorite holiday. It's a time to celebrate our nation's independence with family, friends, and cherished traditions that make the day special." Here are some of the ways Will loves to honor this patriotic holiday: ◾ Get dressed in red, white, & blue. ◾ Read the Declaration of Independence (it's only 1 page!). Even though the US Constitution came later, I still feel it's a good time to read through parts of it as well. ◾ Grill out and eat cheeseburgers/hot dogs while listening to my "USA" Spotify mix. ◾ Hang out by the pool to cool off from the summer heat. ◾ This is the big one...Watch "The Sandlot" with my family. ◾ Watch Fireworks & light up some sparklers to end the night!
