As men, we have the duty to bring growth and stability where ever we go whether it’s work, family or personal life and recently I have realised that we cannot bring either growth or stability till the time we haven’t found a good way to balance our lives.
Honestly, I believe growth and stability are both a trick word, which unfortunately in our minds coincide with just money. It is often said that if you keep earning more money means you are growing and the more money you have the more stable you are.
Well, "there’s nothing wrong until things go wrong." IYKYK!
Going through anxiety and depression and feeling like shit, 3 years ago I decided to do something about it and these are the three things I do without fail to live a happy and balanced life.
1️⃣ Take care of my Body: Our body is the field of activity and without this body it is impossible to do anything physically. It’s practically a machine that needs to be moved constantly as well as rest to recover and do it all over again the next day.
✔ I exercise for at least 30 to 45 minutes a day.
✔ I ensure to walk anywhere between 5,000 to 10,000 steps a day.
✔ I engage in physically activities I love, such as climbing at least 3 to 4 times a week.
✔ I cook my own food, eat what I need and in the right proportions.
✔ I try to sleep at a fixed time every day and sleep the right amount.
2️⃣ Taking care of my Mind: Just like our body needs physical exercises, our mind needs mental exercises. Being engaged in work, meeting new people, having fruitful conversations, reading, writing, learning something new, etc. are all a part of mental exercises.
✔ I ensure that my day to day work happens without fail to achieve my daily goals.
✔ I write one piece on content every day.
✔ I consume and engage with 10 to 12 pieces of content on a daily basis.
✔ I write work-related questions in my book that I do not have an answer for and park them there.
✔ I meet and exchange thoughts with at least 10 to 15 new people every week.
3️⃣ Taking care of my soul: Our body and mind both exist because of our soul and being spiritually connected reinforces our belief system to why we exist here. Meditation, Yoga, Praying, Chanting, Mantra Japa, offering obeisance, studying religions texts, etc. are all the activities that take care of your soul.
✔ Every morning I offer my obeisance to the SUN.
✔ Next, I offer my obeisance to the god.
✔ I do one Japa Mala and chant the mantra every day.
✔ I read some religious texts every day either in form of Stotras or Sholkas.
✔ I say NO to everything that doesn’t align with my purpose.
