Recently attended the 17th International Tax RRC organised by CTC Connect (The Chamber of Tax Consultant) at Gandhinagar. This conference touched upon real life issues like taxation of software including SaaS models, taxation of ESOP, Private Trust, opportunities in GIFT city etc. The talk on trends in tax litigation by ASG N. Venkatraman was as usual compelling and insightful. I also had a great opportunity to be a Group Leader for the paper on taxation of software transactions including SaaS models written by Mr. PV Srinivasan, ex tax head of Wipro Ltd. The paper touched upon real life challenging and merging tech business models and their tax implications. I thoroughly enjoyed our 10+ sessions over almost 25 hours plus discussions with fellow eminent group leader friends. Special thanks to our mentors for giving invaluable guidance Sachin Sastakar Ganesh Rajgopalan. It was indeed a great learning and lifetime experience.
