We are excited about the successful launch of ASTRA1P into geostationary orbit. This communications satellite by Thales Alenia Space will enable private and public broadcasters across Europe to deliver content with the highest picture quality. On board is a critical component, the Digital Programmable Controller (DPC), which we co-developed with Thales Alenia Space and ICsense based on our Radiation Hardened DARE180U platform. Imec.IC-link qualified the chip for use in space and is in charge of its supply chain. “We should nurture a work environment that focuses on the needs of each person, regardless of their gender, but also taking into account gender-specific needs.” Imec.IC-link team leader, Ilse Vos, took the stage at ITF Semicon USA and shared her vision of how to attract more women into tech. During her fireside chat, she shared how her passion for chip design grew throughout her academic career. She joined imec in 2001 and was responsible for large, highly complex and innovative design projects. Since then her career has only grown, in terms of being the technical lead for projects in advanced technologies (7nm and below) and leading the entire back-end design services team. Her tenure at imec started as a digital physical implementation and STA expert, where she was responsible for large, highly complex and innovative projects. San Francisco-based #startup Femtosense founder Sam Fok had an idea to make #AI processing viable for low-cost consumer electronics.    But he needed a partner that could give them access to the #semiconductor supply chain for their #ASIC.    For them, it just made sense to work with #imeciclink to get their product to market in a timely, low-risk manner.    This way the entire Femtosense team could focus on what they do best: AI development.
