#storytelling in #education - "Great storytelling is about connecting – and I want students to not only master the science of data, but also the art of communicating it" -me ( 🙃 ), last week in an article published in NJBIZ on college business partnerships. I was featured in it as an adjunct in Data and #aiethics, advisor for the Ramapo College of New Jersey Center for Data, Mathematical, and Computational Sciences, and industry professional. #humanskills like listening and empathy are important to teach alongside technical (or any) discipline, but the ability to tell stories and connect with people on a personal level is essential. Happy to be partnering with students to not only get to continue to learn and grow myself, but help them learn new skillsets for their own careers. Businesses need to continue to sponsor co-ops, internships, and work-study programs so that they can benefit from the fresh ideas students have, while in turn helping students gain real-world experience beyond the theory they find in the classroom. Ramapo College of New Jersey provides hands on learning and is a great resource for any company looking to tap into students who can hit the ground running.
