I've seen the saw stop hot dog demo dozens of times. I didn't fully appreciate the mechanism until I took a look inside a saw stop cartridge with Lumafield X-ray CT. Know anyone who works there? I'd love to hear more about the challenges of detecting skin contact while rejecting false positives, noise, etc.
We CT scanned a SawStop to understand how it changes when fired! 🪚 Join us as we explore how this clever finger-saving, perhaps life-saving device works through the eyes of industrial CT. At Lumafield, our entire team is always coming up with ideas of cool things to scan. This one is courtesy of Matthew Alpert, Ph.D., whose curiosity about the SawStop on his own table saw set this project into motion. Stay tuned for more CT investigations from the Lumafielders who know Neptune and Voyager best. Check out the scans for yourself: https://lnkd.in/gdRneYgh

Lumafield is hiring! Are you an embedded software developer? Do you want to change how engineers design, make, and understand the things they build? We are looking for an embedded software lead with strong Python and Linux skills in Cambridge, MA to help us make our X-ray CT scanners better, faster and more powerful! https://lnkd.in/eUCDAsmt

Here is a great video from Linus Tech Tips about their new Lumafield Neptune CT Scanner! I love their enthusiasm and I'm only a little jealous about how well they explain the physics of X-ray CT. I can't wait to see what they scan next! https://lnkd.in/eMUhPG9S

The Apple Vision Pro is definitely one of the coolest Lumafield scans I have ever seen. Take a look at the impressive engineering, and compare the design and construction differences to the Meta Quest headset. https://lnkd.in/eE88zsxc

I have heard that some Stanley tumblers are a hot commodity going viral. Here's my favourite set of colours: one that tells you the density of the materials involved based on Lumafield X-ray CT technology. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/euMFsWpk

There is no metal return spring in this spray bottle mechanism. Beautiful complexity here.
