Quick story time... In 2021, I was completely lost. Had moved on from a VC role and had ZERO idea what I wanted to do. Do I chase another investor role or join an early startup? The idea of a traditional corporate made my skin crawl. I cashed out my savings so I could travel and crashed on friend’s couches all over the country while figuring out my life. Eventually it was pretty clear joining a startup was where my heart was telling me to go. Talked to a bunch of teams and even got an offer from one of my portfolio companies. But there was one problem... The idea for Rollfi kept nagging me. I needed to see if the idea had legs or if I was just being delusional. Started socializing the idea to a bunch of people to gauge their interest and see what I was missing. One of those people was Vikram Rajagopalan. Had a quick convo and then moved one. Didn’t really think anything of it. A few weeks later, I get a ping. He mentions On Deck's new accelerator and how he would love to be our first investor. He lays out the program and then gets me on call with Julian Weisser who lays out all the pros and cons of taking the leap. By the end of those interactions, they made the decision easy and Rollfi was officially born! It's been a crazy journey since. From late night phone calls to navigating pivots, they have been there for us. Fast forward to today - Rollfi has multiple live customers, an exciting pipeline, and we have never been more bullish on the opportunity in front of us. Rollfi would not exist without On Deck and eternally grateful to have them in our corner. It is an absolute honor to make this list.

The value of face to face interaction is still so underrated. We recently closed Rollfi's first accounting firm like most deals nowadays in B2B SaaS, entirely online. Intro call to technical call to pricing negotiation all done on a Google Meet or Zoom. But when it came time to implement, Hakim Isa and I realized since they are just a few hours outside of NYC, we should go visit them in person. What does an in-person visit do? • Allows for immediate response times to questions • Direct communication and feedback • Builds rapport and deepens relationships • Makes the relationship more tangible • Solve problems that arise immediately As a founder, if you have a chance to meet a customer face to face… do it!
