Last month, CESER staff was proud to participate in a mutual aid workshop and exercise designed to strengthen mutual aid response during emergency events. Sponsored by DOE in partnership with the American Public Power Association (APPA), the event drew 90 participants from Oklahoma and Kansas to discuss emergency management, response and reimbursement, and review case studies from Oklahoma utilities on recent storm events. Recently, CESER sponsored NASEO - National Association of State Energy Officials’ State Energy Security Bootcamp, which brought together over 90 participants to discuss intrastate and interstate emergency responder preparation, cybersecurity, and state plans. During the bootcamp, CESER’s Assistant Director, Energy Security Policy and Partnerships, Brandi Martin, Minnesota Department of Commerce Deputy Commissioner Michelle Gransee, and NASEO President David Terry discussed the importance of public-private cooperation and the shared responsibility to protect critical infrastructure as highlighted in the National Security Memorandum 22 release [https://lnkd.in/eJK2qauk].
