The last two weeks felt like a complete reset of life: 1. Celebrated my 25th birthday with a dream week-long holiday to the mountains. 2. Resigned from my job. 3. Got admitted to the hospital. Lost 5kgs in 3 days. Vomitted my life out like there was no tomorrow. I've understood one thing clearly—there’s more to life than we often think of: Health, freedom, family, and friendship. I haven’t felt so many emotions all at once. From the highs of Chandrataal to extreme pain, uneasiness and helplessness in a 4x8ft hospital room. Friday Fintech Spotlight: ET Money Why ET Money: On June 12, 2024 (Tuesday), an unexpected announcement came out regarding 360 ONE Wealth and Asset Management's complete acquisition of ET Money. The deal involves a stock swap and cash transaction. 🤯 Here’s a little more about the platform: 🔑 Key Offerings: Direct Mutual Funds, Insurance, Fixed Deposits, NPS, P2P, and Instant Cash. 👍 What I Love: ✔️ Personalization: The app uses available information to tailor my experience (btw thanks for the early wishes and the Genius discount, though a freebie would have been even better 😋). ✔️ Tools like Investor Personality & Freedom Score are well-designed. The questions helped me understand my own risk-taking ability, and the final summary was spot on. 🚧 What Can Be Improved: ➖ Customer Support: FAQs are inadequate, raised tickets can't be tracked, there's no 24-hour coverage, and response times are super slow. ➖ ET Money Learn: The blogs are extremely long, filled with jargon, and not user-friendly. They're highly technical and not suitable for the general public. ➖ Premium Subscription: Please don’t push Genius everywhere. Maybe offer a free month trial? If it’s really worth it, people will want to renew. ➖ App Stability: Very frequent crashes. Last week was a disaster, but the team was quick to fix the issue with a stable update. 💡 What Stands Out: ✔️ SIP of FDs: No other digital platform currently offers this (smartly designed). Final Verdict: 👀👀👀 With 360 ONE’s expertise in HNIs and UHNIs and ET Money’s experience with the masses, it will be exciting to see how the platform evolves. The platform provides detailed and easy-to-understand information which keeps updating regularly. ✔️ Super easy and fast KYC for bond investments (no document upload required, making it very convenient). My new Bond Demat account was ready to use in about 75minutes. 🚧 What Can Be Improved: ➖ While I understand the rationale behind making a demat account mandatory, I wish Wint offered users the flexibility to continue without a compulsory Wint demat for bonds. ➖ Flow for investing in SGBs particularly for non-Zerodha users is manual. Hoping the team solves for it soon. ➖ More FD options would give users a better range of selection (Currently only offers Bajaj Finance and Unity SFB FD) 💡 What Stands Out: ✔️ Excellent Customer Support (Quick & Easy to access). This is not just because I once led that team; I mean it genuinely and without bias. ✔️ Unmatched informational Webinars conducted by Ajinkya and Anshul before every asset launch. ✔️ None of their bonds have ever defaulted, highlighting their strength if cherry-picking bonds with risk-adjusted returns. Final Verdict: ✅✅✅ Wint Wealth is a must-have platform for fixed income instruments. It’s user-friendly, informative, and backed by an outstanding team. Today's Friday Fintech Spotlight: Aditya Birla Capital Digital (ABCD) 🔠 ABCD has been the talk of the town for investing ₹100 Cr to develop an app in a record time of 12 months. Here’s a quick summary: 🎯 Target Users: A fintech app made for everyone (they are envisioning 30M users in 3 years 🤯) 📱 Available On: Both iOS and Android (I tested the iOS version) 🔑 Key Offerings: Broad categories include Loans, Investments, Insurance, and Payments (with almost 22+ offerings and growing). 👀 They also have a health tracker that analyzes your face by capturing a video along with some personal details. Personally, I don't trust such features due to the high level of inaccuracy they can present. 👍🏻 What I liked: ✔️ The app is pretty intuitive, which is a HUGE plus given it's feature-packed. ✔️ Speedy deployment and launch using existing infrastructure and co-creating solutions with other B2B fintechs while maintaining consistency across the app is commendable (this is the future of fintech). 🚧 What Can Be Improved: ➖ Please allow users to explore the app without SIM binding. ➖ We need to majorly improve the Chatbot and IVR support (I was expecting MUCH better, the experience was below average) ➖ AI Bot - SimpliFi is decently trained, but the AI recommendations need to be more personalized rather than just displaying all the available data. ➖ For mutual funds and insurance, they only promote their own products. This is understandable from their perspective, but as a user, I would appreciate more transparency and data to compare with other products as well. 💡 What Stands Out: ✔️ The potential to leverage extensive offline support via the existing ABC ground network. ✔️ One of a kind buffet of investment options + in-house money management tools and calculators make it a complete solution for all things finance Final Verdict: ✅✅✅ ABCD definitely stands out as a financial super app, offering a large range of products and services in one place. It surely signals a fresh approach to money management and rightfully deserves the attention it is getting. Its a super promising platform and is definitely onto something big.
