The LA chapter of Glamazon—Amazon’s LGBTQIA+ affinity group—celebrated another successful Pride Month! This year’s celebration kicked off with what has become a tradition: the ceremonial raising of the Pride flag! During the ceremony, 50 employees gathered for a mimosa brunch and shared their feelings on the importance of Pride month and queer representation. But that was just the start! On June 9th, over 60 “Glamazonians” marched in the 54th Annual Los Angeles Pride Parade. Then Glamazon continued to make a splash at the LA Pride Block Party, partnering with pickleball companies Joola and Pickleroll to build a pop-up court on Hollywood Boulevard hosting fun and exciting exhibition matches between pickleball athletes and social media influencers! Glamazon members also volunteered with the Los Angeles LGBT Center to celebrate Trans Pride LA’s 25th anniversary with an all-ages, free event that saw 1,400+ attendees over its two days. Lastly, Glamazon held a panel, Beyond Pride: The Future of Queer Television, at The Culver Theatre where panelists—including Jen Chambers, Amazon MGM Studios’ Head of First Look and Overall Development—discussed the future of queer representation in media.
