Well get this, ๐๐ˆ๐“๐’๐ข๐š๐ง๐ฌ are paying almost $8000 every year! ๐Ÿ˜ณ Also: If you're studying in an IIT, you might be paying almost 15 times more than the person sitting next to you in class. Why? Just because you were born into a different category. That's crazy, right? Even after working 2x harder than your fellow mates just to get into the same college! I mean, India's all about diversity, which is cool, but should it affect education costs this much? College fees situation in India is kinda wild!๐Ÿ’€

Did you know the median Indian family would have to spend their entire year's income for just one semester at some top colleges? And only about 1 in 10 Indian youth actually make it to higher education. Yet even after struggling for so long why should people be differentiated at every point at such top institutes ?

This is a highly concerning situation here, students being judged on something else and not based on merit. I have seen many people who are from extremely well off families and still take up reservations. I believe that there should be immediate reforms in the reservation system but nowadays the problem is that rather than opposing the idea of caste based reservations people are demanding their community to be included in the reserved list.ย

I think all colleges should accept the idealogy of IIITH or BITS

That's totally true, I have seen many rich SC/STs in my college who are exempted from paying tuition fees + they get the admission easily based on the reservation + almost 90% scholarships eligibility are biased only for SC/STs . This highly needs to be changed in IITs . Also General, OBC gets nothing after working so hard.

Betrayal and trauma of college admission is smth that would genuinely feels like it will never leave my system. Seeing people around me getting top 1 NIT cse while i couldnt even get one circuital branch in a half decent NIT although on paper i had a better "rank" broke my trust in literally everything... I still havent recovered confidence fully... Although on paper i cracked IITJEE.

True.... In BITS they value merit and give scholarship based on semester performance..... We should have similar merit based scholarships instead of just reservations

The reservation system in India's educational system significantly affects professionals graduating from it. It's high time we reform the law.
