It was a super day at the Brookside Golf and Country Club. Seven teams competed, and we're thrilled to announce that the APR team won the tournament. We raised over $5,500 that the NCMA San Gabriel Valley Chapter will use to promote greater local engagement for small businesses. Our JPL Sr. Project Manager and NCMA San Gabriel Valley Chapter President, Sanjay Chhugani hosted an event in Pasadena on Navigating Government Contracts. There were 39 attendees – a mix of JPL, government, and large and small businesses from all over Southern California. The panel included Aaron Parra, Small Business Director of the United States Space Force, Derrick Hu, Deputy Director of Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Weapons Division, OSBP, and Dr. Charles E. Bray, Jr., JPL SBPO Manager. The Speakers provided upcoming opportunities and steps to register with their agencies, as well as valuable tips on doing business with the government. Awards will be given for the lowest team score, closest to the pin, straightest and the longest drive. Additional Information: Only two riders & two bags per golf car. All participants must observe the safety rules printed in the cart, and must drive prudently as course conditions allow. Each participant must have a set of clubs and may rent clubs from the Golf Shop. Participants are to keep up with the group in front of them. Moving a 6,000-pound spacecraft is tricky, like when we maneuvered Europa Clipper into JPL's thermal vacuum chamber, where teams simulated the conditions it will experience in space. Up next: Moving the spacecraft from our California clean room to NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
