I usually refrain from posting personal posts, but I feel this is very relevant to many of us. As a proud Father, I want to congratulate my son Georgios Stergiopoulos for winning the Hellenic U18 National Championship in the Shot Put. That alone is an amazing accomplishment. If you consider that 2 months ago he had a very debilitating injury, sports hernia/athletic pubalgia, he was not supposed to be competing. This is the relevant part. His initial reaction was feeling defeated. So much work, time, and money was put to get him to the level he was, and now it was all for nothing! But he somehow picked himself up and fought, not for any other reason but because he wasn’t going to let a setback like this define him. I’m not sure where all this strength came from, but he has inspired me in so many ways before, that it shouldn’t surprise me that he has done it again! Many of us know that feeling and can relate. Don’t give up, work harder, fight for what you believe you can do!!! Congratulations to my amazing son!!! ΑΞΙΟΣ!!!
