📈 Stacker distributed 3,175 stories in May 2024, driving more than 53,044 earned pickups across 3,643 news sites. Here's a look at what performed well, and what topics publishers were most interested in based on search data from journalists and editors that used Stacker last month: 🥇 Top Performing Stories, based on number of pickups: 1. Families are experiencing food insecurity as Americans grapple with higher grocery costs - 550 pickups 2. Dreamliner nightmare? Boeing 787 safety concerns raised - 547 pickups 3. 13 North American amusement parks growing the most in popularity - 485 pickups 4. 10 of the best movies about the Olympics - 421 pickups 5. Best (and worst) states for access to mental health care: How does yours stack up? - 417 pickups 6. Since the first cellphone came out in the '80s, how have they changed? - 391 pickups 7. How to get cast on 'Love Is Blind' - 379 pickups 8. These are the 13 states with comprehensive consumer privacy protection laws - 378 pickups 9. 10 highly anticipated shows to satisfy every type of reality TV fan - 376 pickups 10. Which common college majors have the highest earning potential? - 372 pickups 💡 Pocketbook and entertainment stories won again in May 2024 - with two stories covering finances, and three stories covering entertainment in the top 10. 📰 Stories covering the news - Olympics, Boeing 787 - were also picked up in high numbers, unsurprisingly. 🤔 More surprising are stories like number 3, which cover travel at a more local level. Many publishers are currently looking for these stories which are less about lavish trips to Europe and more about economical roadtrips families can take. What are you writing about this summer? Give us a follow if you want to know what news outlets will want to talk about in Q3!
