バークレイズ様よりIBMと共著のリポートがリリースされました。 「AI revolution: productivity boom and beyond」 この中に大変興味深い分析がありまして、例えばICTは1970年のパソコン登場から30年いろいろあって2000年代に生産性向上のピークを迎えるなど、そこにはかなりのタイムラグがあった。その後の20年もいろいろあったが、実は生産性はあまり向上できていない。そこで次にAIに期待がかかるが、生産性向上へのタイムラグを短くするためには、社会全体が協調してアクセス性(Accessibility)と多用途性(Versatility)を高める必要があるのではないか、という内容です。IT業界に30年いる私自身がまさに感じていたことで、AIオールインへの決意を新たにしました。 Barclays Research released a joint report with IBM Business Value. "AI revolution: productivity boom and beyond" The report shows an interesting analysis. For example, IT started in 1970 with first personal computers and took very long time, 30 years to contribute to the society-wide productivity improvement in 2000s. Then It has no longer improved productivity for 20 years. That is why AI has high expectation, and we need to minimize time lag until productivity improvement by society wide collective actions. From 30 years experience in IT industry, I myself have exactly the same observation and this report strengthened my determination for AI All-in strategy.

あまりの偉業に思わず投稿。 男子バスケットボール日本代表でネブラスカ大所属の富永啓生選手がNCAA 3ポイントコンテストで優勝＋圧巻のパフォーマンス。 March Madness出場、全米シニアオールスター選出。レンジャーから5年間見続けてきて最後はとんでもないところまで行ってくれました。私もブレずに日本社会の変革を続けます！ (ちなみに我が母校のテキサス大学はNCAAトーナメント2回戦で惜しくも敗退となりました) Cannot resist sharing this news. Keisei Tominaga, the guard of all Japan men's basketball team and Nebraska Corn Huskers, won NCAA 3 point championship with astonishing performance. He led the team to March Madness, and was invited to NCAA all-star game. I have been following him for five years since Ranger College, and finally reached to the place far beyond my imagination. Like him, I will continue my journey to transform Japanese society with no hesitation. (Unfortunately, Texas Longhorns lost the second round in NCAA tournament this year.)

「2024銀行業界グローバル展望」本編リポートの監訳をちょっとずつ進めていますが、なんと「Event Horizon（事象の地平線）」まで登場します。アーキテクチャの再設計なしに生成AIを全社展開するリスクの比喩で、多少スケールが大きすぎる気はするものの、日本語版でもそのまま使うことにしました。なんとか春にはリリースします。 （画像はイベント・ホライゾン・テレスコープによるブラックホール写真） While translating the full report of "2024 Global Outlook for Banking and Financial Markets", I was surprised to see "Event Horizon" in this report. It is the metaphor for the risk associated with enterprise-wide Generative AI implementation without redesigning architecture. It might be too far and too big, but I leave as it is in the Japanese version, which I am trying to release in this spring. (The picture is Black Hall captured by Event Horizon Telescope.)
