We are pleased to announce that Kris Gevaert is taking over the role of scientific director from Nico Callewaert, ad interim. Nico will stay on board as group leader and deputy director. Nico was the guiding force behind the birth of VIB-UGent Center for Medical Biotechnology, creating a connection between VIB research groups from two different VIB departments and bringing our teams together under one roof. Nico's tireless efforts have transformed CMB into a robust and dynamic Center, fostering a collaborative environment for innovative research. We are very grateful for Nico's outstanding contributions and are confident that under the leadership of Kris, CMB will continue to be a place where molecular life scientists focus on building tomorrow's technology to study, diagnose, prevent or treat diseases.
