I guess at my (midlife-) age I could have bought a Harley or a sportscar, but my wife Anke blocked the Harley and I figured that after folding myself out of that sportscar I would still look my age… So I am happy to share we acquired 2 of the strongest brands in cosmetic clinics 😊. Great to partner with Stephanie Litjens and David Mosmuller, MD PhD and with our new managers David Sloff and Reinier Luitingh. A big thank you to Esther Litjens-Meijer and Monique Vonken for building such beautiful companies. When I started my career fresh out of university, marketing was simple: look at what your consumer really wants and deliver on that. That was what those blue books of Philip Kotler thought me. In todays’ markets, it is not always easy to keep that Philip Kotler level of simplicity at heart. That essence of marketing is what sparked my excitement when we started looking at aging consumers. Living longer in their own house, independent and comfortable, is a deeply felt consumer want & need. Building a company that supports them in that is at the core of the strategy we embarked on when acquiring Meubelzorg last summer. Adding additional products & services to this trusted platform is what consumers want and is simply just not out there today. I belief Philip Kotler is 92 years old these days. It took me some time, but I am happy we are trying to live up to his lessons 😊

One of the coolest things of my job is the continuous learning opportunities is presents, particularly in exploring new markets and meeting visionary entrepreneurs. Years ago, I held the belief that the high end of the luxury beauty market was represented by esteemed brands like Dior and Chanel with price point of up to 150 euros for a bottle of perfume. Boy, was I wrong! I discovered that the reality of the high-end luxury beauty market surpasses that figure by leaps and bounds, with price points of 350 euros and beyond. It is in this realm of exclusivity where the true magic unfolds, driven by innovation, branding and novel go-2-market strategies fueling remarkable growth rates. Happy we met Philip Hillige, who, driven by true passion, blazed a trail in pioneering this market over 20 years ago, long before its acceleration. This market revolves around meeting consumer needs at its core – an experience of discovering new products through engaging the senses of touch, smell and captivating storytelling. The stuff we know builds great brands! Recognizing the need for further advancement, Philip brought Claudia Pouw on board as CEO some 4.5 years ago. Now, with the support of Vendis Capital, the company is set to embark on the next phase of this journey. Happy to be part of this partnership. And of course, you can expect me to be all shiny and glammed from now on 😊
