Doug Baldwin Jr, founder of Family First Community Center in Renton, Wash., and Beto Yarce, Regional Administrator, met on Friday to discuss how the non-profit and SBA can collaborate to improve lives, particularly with underserved people. Beto shared information on SBA’s small business boom initiatives such as counseling, capital, contracting and disaster assistance. Doug provided an update on Family First’s program designed for formerly incarcerated individuals known as PREP. Pioneer’s Reentry Entrepreneurship Program is an eight-week transformative journey that enables participants to explore entrepreneurship fundamentals, develop viable business ideas and prepare for the launch and growth of their ventures. The SBA recently lifted restrictions on loans for returning citizens so this partnership could be life-changing for many individuals and families.

The Seattle District Office continues to rock it! Their Lender Roundtable and Meet the Lender event was a resounding success!
Great conversation, feedback, and connections made at our Lender Roundtable and Meet the Lender event yesterday in Bellevue, WA! We appreciate the outstanding small business lenders in our local SBA network, and enjoyed the opportunity to discuss lending trends, progress, and updates to SBA loan programs with this group of experienced SBA lenders. Our SBA Lender Roundtable was followed by an "open house" Meet the Lender event for the general public to meet with local lenders and discuss their business needs. Come see us at the next Meet the Lender in Thurston County: Tuesday July 16 Lacey, WA RSVP: https://lnkd.in/gwKkEAxP
