WhatsApp helps people connect and share no matter where they are in the world As a Technical Program Manager at WhatsApp, you will lead and manage multiple critical technical and engineering projects, working closely with cross-functional teams within WhatsApp and other Meta teams. Your main focus will be on the Click-to-WhatsApp Ads initiative, which is essential for achieving our revenue growth goals. You will acquire a deep understanding of the development lifecycle processes, assume responsibility for them and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency across the board. This role requires significant cross-functional (XFN) engagement, collaboration across various groups, a deep understanding of team dynamics, technical dependencies and strategy to drive our progress and insights.
Technical Program Manager, WhatsApp Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage end-to-end cross-functional programs, ensuring timely delivery
  • Assume responsibility for program execution within a matrix organization, facilitating coordination across various functions
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product and other key cross-functional teams to define program requirements, set priorities, and establish scope
  • Partner with cross functional teams to drive technical analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and changes effectively by optimizing scope, schedule, and resources accordingly
  • Drive and influence technical and product strategy, proactively identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, align priorities, effectively influence the direction for a broadly cross-functional area
  • Develop and own communication plans to effectively and proactively communicate program status, issues, and risks to stakeholders
  • Collaboratively define the vision for building Meta-scale, state-of-the-art, global products
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience within systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, or technical product/program management experience
  • Experience delivering technical programs or products from inception to delivery, and fully understand and own the development lifecycle process(es)
  • Experience defining strategic direction and identifying new opportunities for impact amongst products, platforms and programs
  • Experience operating proactively and autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrating critical thinking, thought leadership and ability to operate in an ambiguous environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems
  • Ability to motivate and focus a large collaboration to reach challenging goals.
  • Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope
  • Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time
  • Effective oral & written communicator, with demonstrated abilities to drive complex technical conversations, summarise, and present technical content to technical and non-technical leaders or audiences
  • Strong competence with systematic prioritisation and decision making
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in building or managing system software components like, messaging systems or cloud infrastructure, preferably in a large scale environment
  • Experience with disambiguating technical and cross-functional problems
