Meta seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to serve as a product counsel on the Facebook Legal Team. This individual will be part of the Product Legal team in Facebook, and own primary responsibility for ensuring that product teams are able to ship their products and features with sustainable legal risk on a global scale in a highly regulated environment. This individual will also support a number of significant cross-company initiatives including advising Facebook product teams on regulatory readiness efforts. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team at Facebook, and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment. The specific areas of focus and responsibilities will change based on company priorities, new legal issues, and the regulatory and competitive ecosystem.
Lead Counsel, Facebook Responsibilities
  • Drive high-impact projects working cross-functionally with stakeholders across Meta in Legal, Privacy, Product, and other business teams
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in social media laws, content regulations, and privacy and integrity laws
Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 5+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm or in-house experience (applicable product counseling, privacy counseling, regulatory, and compliance experience)
  • Experience counseling and advising clients on risk mitigation strategies across technology product platforms
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience collaborating at all levels of the business across functions, including executive and C-suite
  • Experience in managing legal risk across multiple jurisdictions, including global privacy laws, content regulations, litigation, and compliance matters
  • Experience in advancing complex initiatives in a highly-charged multi-stakeholder environment
  • Enjoy understanding new technologies and the consumer internet landscape
  • Sense of humor

$198,000/year to $266,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
