WHAT TO EXPECT:
JLR is looking for a Toolmaker to support our team in Halewood.

You'll be working as part of a multi-skilled Dimensional Assurance team within Body Construction (BIW) and liaise with different team members to ensure high quality is maintained and a safe and efficient production performance is delivered.

This role supports the measurement of tooling fixtures and provides a tooling maintenance & fabrication service: maintaining and repairing tooling fixtures, manufacturing spare tooling and assisting with production line stoppages and quality concerns.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Engineering team in the containment and resolution of customer concerns through tooling modifications and improvements
• Conduct scheduled routine preventative maintenance (PM) routines on time
• Follow up on, and rectify, concerns identified during maintenance activities
• Contribute kaizens/improvement ideas for the work group and department to reduce waste and improve efficiency
• Take responsibility for Health and Safety of self and others

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Relevant indentured/ advanced modern apprenticeship or minimum level 3 qualification in Toolmaking
• Current experience in a Toolroom environment
• Significant knowledge of machining processes on manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, etc
• Competent in the use of manual welding equipment (MIG, etc)
• Able to read and interpret mechanical schematic drawings
• Able to interpret written and verbal design requirements and incorporate them into fabricated solutions
• Good fault-finding skills and able to use problem solving techniques - Root cause analysis
