Interviews with Outstanding Authors (2024)

In 2024, many AOT authors make outstanding contributions to our journal. Their articles published with us have received very well feedback in the field and stimulate a lot of discussions and new insights among the peers.

Hereby, we would like to highlight some of our outstanding authors who have been making immense efforts in their research fields, with a brief interview of their unique perspective and insightful view as authors.

Annals of Thyroid 2023 CiteScore Released: 0.9

We are pleased to announce that the Annals of Thyroid (AOT) has received its 2023 CiteScore: 0.9, ranking 201 out of 244 journals in the Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism category.

Furthermore, we are delighted to highlight the remarkable achievements made by all AME journals in the CiteScore ranking.

Prof. Hui Sun: Intraoperative neuromonitoring in thyroid surgery is still on its way

Professor Hui Sun, who is currently the Director of the Department of Thyroid Surgery, China-Japan Friendship Hospital of Jilin University and the Director of the Department of Surgery at Jilin University Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital, gave two keynote lectures entitled "Value of Dynamic Monitoring of Calcitonin and Carcinoembryonic Antigen in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Medullary Thyroid Cancer" and "Application and Scientific Innovation of Intraoperative Nerve Monitoring during Thyroid Surgery" respectively. She was interviewed by the editorial office of Annals of Thyroid, AME Publishing Company after the meeting.

AOT Annual Report 2021

In 2021, by the joint efforts, AOT has been indexed by Scopus in June. According to the data collected from Google Analytics, AOT had a steadily increased number of visitors in 2021 (all together 47,773 pageviews). For detailed information, please find the Annual Report below.

Annals of Thyroid (AOT) is now a member of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

Starting from July 2021, AME Publishing Company is formally recognized a publisher member of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and over 60 AME-published journals become a member of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), as part of AME’s commitment to best practice in scholarly publishing. Annals of Thyroid (AOT) is among the list of COPE membership.

AME entered an official partnership with Publons to enhance wide-ranging recognition for reviewers

AME Publishing Company entered an official partnership with Publons, a product of Clarivate Analytic Company (which owns Web of Science, EndNote, ScholarOne, among many others), as of April 2020. Around 60 AME journals’ peer review systems are now integrated seamlessly into the Publons platform (https://publons.com/about/home). The partnership was done to recognize our expert peer reviewers spontaneously for their review contribution.

Application of the CARE Guideline as reporting standard in the Annals of Thyroid

The Annals of Thyroid welcomes case reports which are supposed to report new observations of diseases, clinical findings or novel/unique treatment outcomes relevant to practitioners in the fields of medicine.

Implementation of transparent peer review at Annals of Thyroid (AOT)

With a commitment to openness and accountability, and to increase the level of transparency throughout our peer review process, our editorial office has decided to implement a transparent peer review process as an option for all manuscripts submitted to AOT from March 19, 2020.

Editor-in-Chief: Wen Tian

Dr. Wen Tian is a Chief Physician & Professor and tutor of master candidates at the Department of General Surgery, Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital. As an academic leader in thyroid surgery and hernia and abdominal wall surgery in China, he currently serves as the chairman of the Chinese Research Hospital Association Thyroid Disease Committee, chairman of the Chinese Thyroid Association, and board member of the Asian Association of Endocrine Surgeons. He is the member of the editorial boards of 8 core Chinese journals including Chinese Journal of Surgery, Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery, Chinese Journal of Practical Journal, Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery, Journal of Laparoscopic Surgery, and Chinese Journal of Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery.
