Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate the effects of measles vaccination in HIV infected children.
Methods: 13 measles seronegative HIV-infected children received polyvalent measles-mumps-rubella vaccine.
Main observations and results: Measles seroconversion occurred in 10/13 patients (in revaccinated children in 7/10), rubella seroconversion in 7 out of 9 patients. None of the 12 children responded mumps component.
Conclusions: Measles vaccination seems to be safe and effective in HIV-infected children without severe immunodeficiency.
