Surgical treatment of tracheal and carinal tumors

Chest Surg Clin N Am. 2003 Feb;13(1):95-110, vi. doi: 10.1016/s1052-3359(02)00042-x.

Abstract

Tracheal tumors are rare. The two most common histologic types (occurring in about equal numbers) are adenoid cystic carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Current approaches for tracheal mobilization allow safe resection of up to 50% of the tracheal length and primary anastomosis in the vast majority of patients.
