Abstract

Objective: To investigate and evaluate a clinically perspective way of inducing transplantation tolerance.

Methods: Multi-cord blood transfusion was performed before kidney transplantation in 20 cases. Donor-specific mixed lymphocyte reaction(MLR) and allograft rejection were observed and studied.

Results: The donor-specific MLR was suppressed in every recipient. No allograft rejection took place in the cord blood transfusion group three months after kidney transplantation.

Conclusion: Multi-cord blood transfusion is a practical way of inducing transplantation tolerance.
