[Experience for reconstruction of defects of abdominal wall with Gore-tex]

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the outcome of prevention of abdominal hernia in reconstruction of defect of abdominal wall with Gore-tex clinically.

Methods: Six cases of the large defects of abdominal wall were repaired with Gore-tex after surgical removal of abdominal wall tumor.

Results: The reconstructed cases were followed up six months to three years and there was no postoperative complication.

Conclusion: Gore-tex is a reliable and effective biomaterial for reconstruction of the large defect of abdominal wall.
